Great Clips Franchise Scores Points With Monday Night Football

October 19, 2009 // Franchising.com // Rob Goggins, vice president of franchise development for Great Clips, Inc., announced that the ratings for ESPN's October 5 telecast of the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers football game was a coup for the Great Clips marketing department and a boon for franchise owners.

Great Clips aired a new :30-second television spot 15 minutes before kick off during ESPN's Monday Night Countdown. The sports channel recorded an impressive 3.0 cable rating with more than 3.4 million impressions nationally for the pre-game show.

"The commercial, shot in a Great Clips salon, offers an insight into how much the two teams look forward to rubbing shoulders," says Goggins, "but never so their partisan fans."

The media hype and storyline for this first meeting between Brett Favre and his former Viking teammates pushed viewership of the game into the record books. The broadcast was the most watched cable program ever.

"This was a terrific national marketing opportunity for Great Clips franchisees", said Goggins. "The marketing investment continues to build our brand preference across the country, and Great Clips franchise owners are reaping the benefits of same-store sales growth."
