Toys"R"Us, Inc. Introduces the 'Big Gift' Layaway Just In Time for the Holiday Shopping Season

New Program Offers Customers the Opportunity to Make Payments Over Time on "Big Gifts" at Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us Stores Nationwide

WAYNE, N.J., Oct. 19 // PRNewswire // -- Toys"R"Us, Inc. today announced the introduction of in-store layaway to help customers purchase that "big gift" - and pay over time - this holiday. Through this program, customers may reserve toys, such as bikes and play kitchens, early in the season and make a series of small payments over an extended period. In addition, expectant parents and their families can benefit by using layaway to purchase items such as cribs, car seats and strollers. The "Big Gift" layaway is available beginning today in Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us stores nationwide*.

Big Gifts for Kids

Toys"R"Us will offer layaway on hundreds of items available in its stores as an extension of the company's unique value proposition - affordable fun! Whether a BMX bike, a Power Wheels® ride-on vehicle or a two-story dollhouse, gift-givers can fulfill childhood wishes and rest assured that the big items on their holiday shopping lists are available when they want them through the "Big Gift" layaway. With the best and broadest assortment of gifts to delight kids of all ages, Toys"R"Us offers layaway on the following toy categories:

• Bikes
• Battery-Powered Ride-On Vehicles
• Dollhouses
• Play Kitchens
• Outdoor Play Equipment and Playsets, including metal gym sets, wood gym sets, trampolines, houses, teeter-totters and climbers
• Pools and Water Slides
• Preschool Ride-Ons, such as cozy coupes, horses, metal tricycles and wagons
• Basketball Systems
• Karaoke Machines
• Keyboards and other Musical Instruments for toddlers to teens
• Televisions
• Indoor Table Games, including air hockey, foosball and table tennis

Big Gifts for Babies

For family and friends shopping for new and expectant parents this holiday season, Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us stores will also offer layaway on a wide selection of items for babies. These "big gift" items are perfect for in-laws, grandparents, aunts, uncles or anyone who wants to get a jumpstart on doting on the newest addition to the family. Baby items that are part of the "Big Gift" layaway include:

• Car Seats
• High Chairs

Placing a product on layaway at any Toys"R"Us or Babies"R"Us store requires a deposit of 20% of the total purchase, including all applicable taxes, and a $10 service charge. Payments may be made at the store at any time in the form of cash, check, credit card, debit card or gift card. Merchandise will be made available within 7-10 days of final payment, so items must be paid for in full by December 6 to ensure that the gift is available for pickup before Christmas. A fee will apply to canceled layaway orders**.

The "Big Gift" layaway will be promoted in print and online advertising, as well as through extensive in-store signage. More details on the program are included in brochures available in all Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us stores nationwide.

*The program will not be available in Maryland at this time. **Ohio and Rhode Island have different policies for canceled orders. See stores for details.
