Bishops Barbershop Announces Sale of First Franchise

Shop Owners Jeff and Kitty Foote Now Open for Business in Portland

November 10, 2009 // Franchising.com // PORTLAND, Ore. – Bishops Barbershop, cuts and colors for men and women, today announced the sale of its first franchise location. Shop owners Jeff and Kitty Foote are now open for business at 7550 SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway in Portland.

"Bishops is delighted to welcome Jeff and Kitty as our first franchise owners," said Leo Rivera, founder, president and CEO of Bishops. "Their shop will satisfy the growing demand for high-end salon services at affordable prices in the Beaverton area."

The Foote's franchise joins the six company-owned Bishops throughout Portland.

"Kitty and I are pleased to be the first franchisees and bring the Bishops experience to Beaverton," Jeff said. "As local residents, we view the opportunity to open our shop as an investment in the community, and believe that we are playing an important role in the daily lives of the people who live and work here."

Bishops fills the niche between national haircut chains, traditional barbershops and full-service salons, delivering high-end salon quality at affordable prices in a casual, fun environment that includes edgy artwork and music, and trend-setting stylists. Clients are served on a convenient, walk-in only basis, and choose from an a la carte menu of services including style, shampoo, blow dry, a variety of cut and color options, or a hot towel shave. Those who are 21 and older are offered a free bottle of cold Miller High Life.

"The opportunity to open the first franchise is exciting because the hair care industry continues to thrive even in a down economy, and Bishops is a proven success," Kitty said. "Leo is committed to supporting us as we grow our business and the Bishops brand, and we look forward to being a vibrant part of the community."
