Card Connection Franchisees Expand Territory in Time for Christmas

November 23, 2009 // Franchising.com // Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection, has announced today that its franchisees, Dave and Di Tudor, have expanded their Hereford and Worcestershire territory to include Stratford-upon-Avon. This takes the number of retail outlets they supply with Card Connection's range of quality greetings cards to from 220 to almost 300.

"No business can stand still, it must always be moving forwards," explains Card Connection franchisee, Di Tudor. "When our neighbouring franchise territory became available we recognised the potential for business development. We are expanding with the Christmas rush just around the corner but we are looking forward to the challenge!"

Former sub post masters, Dave and Di Tudor are no strangers to building up their own business and are now anticipating taking on a new part time staff member to help manage the additional retail merchandising required.

Card Connection is one of the UK's largest card publishers and is the market leader in the franchised distribution of greeting cards. Using a proven system, franchisees place greeting card ranges in retail outlets on a 'consignment' basis. This means the stock and display equipment is installed on free loan to the retailer. This is one step beyond 'sale or return' as Card Connection customers never have to buy the stock in the first place, only paying for what they sell. Card Connection franchisees supply key national accounts such as Netto, Budgens, Londis, Spar and Shell.

Card Connection has limited vacancies for franchisees who are keen to run an expanding business. Successful candidates would ideally have some management experience as, once established, they would be expected to employ a small team, operate a warehouse and have several liveried vans on the road. Card Connection franchisees have recently also started to supply retail outlets with the popular Voltz energy shot.

Because the franchise networks in the UK and Ireland are complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already-established territory from an existing franchisee. These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £20,000 (+ stock) with earnings potential in excess of £50,000 per annum.
