Freshii Sells Master Franchise For Philadelphia
Large Baja Fresh Franchisee Signs on with Freshii
December 17, 2009 // Franchising.com // Chicago, IL – Goel Management, franchisee of 12 Baja Fresh restaurants, Verizon Wireless retail stores as well as various real estate holdings, has purchased the master franchise rights for Freshii for the entire Philadelphia MSA to open at least 30 new Freshii locations. "Philadelphia is the 5th largest media market in the US, but has surprisingly few healthy eating options compared to many other large cities. Freshii start up costs are half of anything else I've seen with similar volumes, the concept is surprisingly simple to operate with lower food and labor costs, great food, the ability to expand in traditional and non-traditional locations and I think Freshii is the perfect fit for Philadelphia", said Sumeet Goel, CEO Goel Management.

Freshii, which started in Toronto, Canada and is now headquartered in Chicago, has 16 restaurants open in the US and Canada and another 100+ in development in NYC, Chicago, Washington, DC, Colorado, Los Angeles, Houston, Eastern Europe and now Philadelphia. Freshii restaurants range in size from 150sf kiosks to 1500sf inline locations and are a blend of high volume fresh customized meals, grab-and-go, and gourmet snack food.
