Freshii Signs Master Franchise Deal For Orange County, Ca

Healthy Fast Casual Concept Plans to Open Over 30 Stores in Orange County

January 15, 2010 // Franchising.com // Newport Beach, California - Business professional Souhel Stephan Tarakji has signed a master franchise deal to open over 30 Freshii restaurants in Orange County, California over the next six years. The fast casual Freshii is known for its modern, hip vibe and convenient, healthy and delicious meals and snacks. There are currently 16 units in Chicago and Toronto, several new restaurants currently under construction, and more than 200 units in varying stages of development across the USA in Chicago, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Denver, New York City, Houston and Philadelphia, and in Canada in Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto. The chain also has international development plans underway in Dubai and Vienna, Austria with the first global restaurant set to open in Spring of 2010.

Prior to joining Freshii, Mr. Tarakji was a principal owner of multi-million dollar wholesale telecommunications company for 8 years. He notes, "Freshii's food quality is excellent and all ingredients are fresh and real with no preservatives. This is just what Orange County residents are seeking - fresher, healthier and more convenient options. Freshii is an impressive concept. The restaurants are sleek and hip, and you can't find this kind of premium food at a better price point anywhere else. It's also a surprisingly simple concept to operate, which is what every entrepreneur is looking for."

Freshii's popularity skyrocketed since the first location opened in Toronto in 2005, winning Freshii the title of Best New Retail Concept in Canada during its first year of business. Two years later, Freshii was named the 22nd Fastest Growing Company in Canada. In 2008, U.S.-based QSR Magazine dubbed Freshii "One To Watch." In October of 2008, Freshii founder and CEO, Matthew Corrin, was interviewed by Sir Richard Branson at an interactive entrepreneur's summit about the risks and rewards associated with owning and operating a fast growing business. Freshii CEO Corrin was also recently featured in a May 2009 New York Times article on business travel.
