Card Connection's New Scottish Recruit is off to Flying Start!

January 19, 2010 // // Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection, has today announced that its new Scottish franchisee is off to a flying start! Former Esso station manager, Graeme Ewing, took over the Ayr/Kilmarnock area at the end of December and is already steaming ahead to deliver Card Connection's range of quality greeting cards and gifts to retail outlets throughout the region.

"I have been impressed over the years by Card Connection's product range as an Esso retail customer," confirms Graeme Ewing. "Therefore, when the territory became available I was very interested in learning more about how the company worked. When I visited the head office, I found the Card Connection team made up a strong, dynamic and forward thinking organisation and one which I was keen to join."

"Graeme purchased his Card Connection territory in December which is one of the busiest times of the year for greeting card sales," explains Andrew Cutler. "However, with his previous retail experience, Graeme was quickly up to speed and is now well placed to optimise the opportunity that this lucrative franchise could bring.

"Graeme is a real 'people person' with lots in common with the retail managers," continues Cutler. "He was therefore, quickly on track, building relationships with key accounts to manage a seamless handover of the territory. I know he already has plans for expansion and to take advantage of the un-tapped potential of the region. This Scotsman really is off to a flying start!"

Card Connection itself is one of the UK's largest card publishers and is the market leader in the franchised distribution of greeting cards. Using a proven system, franchisees place greeting card ranges in retail outlets on a 'consignment' basis. The award winning merchandising service provided to retailers by local franchisees is second to none and has established the company's excellent reputation especially within the convenience sector.

Card Connection has limited vacancies for franchisees who are keen to run an expanding business. Successful candidates would ideally have some management experience as, once established, they would be expected to employ a small team, operate a warehouse and have several liveried vans on the road.

Because the franchise networks in the UK and Ireland are complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already-established territory from an existing franchisee. These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £20,000 (+ stock) with earnings potential in excess of £50,000 per annum.
