Martinizing Dry Cleaning Ranked One of Nation's Top Franchise Systems by Entrepreneur Magazine

Martinizing Dry Cleaning ranks as one of the top 500 franchise systems in the U.S., according to the January 2010 issue of Entrepreneur magazine.

Loveland, OH --(PR.com)-- Martinizing Dry Cleaning, the most recognized name in dry cleaning and the largest dry cleaning franchisor in the United States with nearly 550 locations worldwide, ranks as one of the top 500 franchise systems in the U.S., according to the January 2010 issue of Entrepreneur magazine.

Martinizing was ranked 319 overall in this year's Entrepreneur's Franchise 500® and number one in their field of franchised dry cleaning and laundry services. This is the fifth consecutive year the company has been recognized. Though 2009 has been challenging for many, Martinizing has experienced growth when several of its competitors are either curbing development or shuttering altogether. Since January, 19 exclusive multi-unit development agreements have been signed in areas such as South Florida, Joliet, IL, New Jersey, Salt Lake City, UT and Rochester, NY totaling more than 120 new stores that have opened or will open within the next five years.

"We're honored and proud to be recognized in this year's ranking," said Jerry Laesser, Martinizing's vice president of marketing and franchise development. "We've seen so many strong brands go under recently and it shows the dedication we have to our franchisees and the continued growth and success of this brand through both good times and more challenging ones."

Since its inception in 1949 by New York chemist Henry Martin, Martinizing has been the gold standard and a constant innovator in the on-site dry cleaning industry. In 2003, the brand began offering silicone-based GreenEarth cleaning solvent as an environmentally safe alternative to perc and since that time, no new locations have opened using perc. Martinizing is now looking to perpetuate its industry dominance with plans to open and convert 19 units in 2009.

About Entrepreneur's Franchise 500®

Entrepreneur's Franchise 500® became a tradition with the magazine in 1980 when they created the first ranking of franchises in the industry. Over the years, the magazine has polished their ranking procedure to give them a formula that accurately identifies today's top franchise opportunities. The ranking criteria includes the following important factors: financial strength and stability, growth rate, size of the system, number of years in business, length of time franchising, start-up cost, litigation, percentage of terminations and whether the company provides financing. The magazine partnered with an independent CPA firm, which audited financial data from the franchises.
