BOSTON --(BUSINESS WIRE)-- There's nothing more romantic than sharing food with a loved one in a cozy and intimate space. This Valentine's Day weekend, The Melting Pot, a fondue restaurant, offers a recipe for romance with a stroll down Lover's Lane (secluded seating areas for couples) to ignite or reignite that romantic spark.
With four locations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, the fondue chain is an authority on romance. Since 1975, more than 500,000 couples have celebrated wedding anniversaries at the restaurants, and nearly 13,000 couples have become engaged.
All four locations are offering special Valentine's features that aren't regularly offered on their menus. Valentine's diners will be able to indulge in unique items such as Cranberry Walnut and Bourbon Bacon Cheddar cheese fondues, entrees of filet, lobster, shrimp and chicken and Passion Fruit, Chambord and Strawberry Shortcake chocolate fondues.
Coupled with other sensual sweets like strawberries, marshmallows and cheesecake, The Melting Pot's chocolate fondue is the perfect recipe for romance. Long believed to be an aphrodisiac, chocolate has phenylethylamine and serotonin, two chemicals that light up pleasure areas in the brain. Even better, eating chocolate causes the brain to release endorphins, making people feel loved.
"Our Lover's Lane tables are most requested, and we've had many a romantic order flowers or a favorite bottle of wine from us in advance to be set at the tables for special occasions," says Kirsten Fischer, director of marketing for the four Massachusetts and Rhode Island Melting Pots. "Some of our tables are so secluded that couples can't be seen by anyone else in the restaurant."
A typical dining experience at The Melting Pot lasts approximately two hours for the four courses.
"Eating together is one of the best ways to spend quality time with each other," adds Fischer. "And what could be more romantic than an engaging conversation, a little laughter and sharing great food and drinks with the person you love."
With more than 145 restaurants nationwide, existing locations in 37 states including the District of Columbia, and over 13 locations currently in development, The Melting Pot Restaurants Inc. is the country's premier fondue restaurant franchise. At The Melting Pot, fondue becomes a memorable fourâ€course dining experience where patrons can dip into something different. Guests enjoy a choice of four flavorful fondue cooking styles and a variety of unique entrées combined with special dipping sauces. The menu also includes creamy cheese fondues, lively salads, fine wines and mouthwatering chocolate fondue desserts. Founded in 1975, The Melting Pot's corporate headquarters are in Tampa, Fla.
