Jamba Juice Announces CAHPERD 'Give Back Day' on Friday, January 22

Jamba Juice to Donate a Portion of California Sales to Support 'CAHPERD Jamba Jump Day'—a February 1 Attempt to Break Guinness World's Record for the 'Most People Jumping/Skipping Rope at the Same Time'

EMERYVILLE, Calif. // PRNewswire-FirstCall // -- ( JMBA)--Jamba Juice Company and The California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CAHPERD) announced today it will host a CAHPERD "Give Back Day" on Friday, January 22 at select California Jamba Juice® stores. In support of the CAHPERD Jamba Jump Day event—a mass attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the "Most People Jumping/Skipping Rope at the Same Time"—a portion of all proceeds on that day will support the purchase of jump ropes and other expenses needed to successfully implement the event.

Taking place on February 1, 2010, at 9am, CAHPERD Jamba Jump Day will amass over 80,000 Californians in schools, nonprofit organizations, businesses, service organizations and clubs statewide as they jump rope simultaneously for 10 minutes—encouraging healthy living in both children and adults alike. Coordinated via live webcast and broadcast online, CAHPERD and Jamba Juice hope to break the current Australian record of 59,000 jumpers.

Together with CAHPERD and the Jamba community, we can help Californians get some aerobic activity and jump over this world record."

In addition to giving back a portion of the proceeds from those sales to help fund the event, Jamba Juice will also host several CAHPERD volunteer tables outside of select California Jamba Juice locations where you can drop off slightly used or new jump ropes, make donations, get information and register to participate in this ground-breaking event.

With February 1 kicking off American Heart Month, both CAHPERD and Jamba Juice hope that Jamba Jump Day and its support of rope skipping curriculum, will remind all that it doesn't require a great deal of money, expensive equipment or special, elite sports skills to be healthy and fit.
