Roni Deutch Tax Center Joins Forces to Prevent Child Abuse

Nationwide Tax Franchise to Support 'Tax Lady' Roni Deutch's Mission; Announces Partnership with Prevent Child Abuse America

January 21, 2010 // Franchising.com // Sacramento, CA - Roni Deutch Tax Center is joining the movement to prevent child abuse. With tax season here, Roni Deutch Tax Center has decided not only to help individuals with their seasonal tax return preparation, but also bring awareness to a bigger issue.

Roni Deutch Tax Center is partnering with Prevent Child Abuse (PCA) America and its new Pinwheels for PreventionTM campaign to help raise awareness of and funds for healthy child development and child abuse prevention nationwide. PCA America is the leading organization working solely to prevent the abuse and neglect of our nation's children.

Roni Deutch Tax Center is doing its part by offering clients the opportunity to purchase $1.00 "paper pinwheels" at any of the 44 participating franchises from January 1 to the end of tax season on April 15. The participating tax centers will also have the option of making a $20 donation to the corresponding PCA America state chapter for every Federal tax return filed during this same timeframe.

"My mission throughout my whole career has been to help taxpayers get the most out of their tax returns through competent, professional tax return preparation, while at the same time protecting them from the IRS with its unlimited resources," said Roni Deutch, CEO and founder of Roni Deutch Tax Center. "When looking to partner with a national charitable organization, I wanted to continue with that protective mission. Working to prevent children from being abused or neglected is very close to my heart."

The Pinwheels for PreventionTM campaign introduces the pinwheel as a symbol for child abuse and neglect prevention nationwide. The pinwheel represents PCA America's efforts to change the way our nation thinks about prevention, focusing on community activities and public policies that prioritize prevention right from the start to make sure child abuse and neglect never occur.

"We know more than ever the costs of not investing in children early," says Prevent Child Abuse America President and CEO James M. Hmurovich. "And given this, we hope everyone sees Pinwheels for Prevention as a call to action. Each of us has a role to play to help children live free from abuse and neglect. It can be as simple as giving a parent a break to speaking to a legislator who can change policy so healthy child development is a national priority."

With 44 Roni Deutch Tax Centers participating throughout the country, this partnership is off to a strong start to help bring awareness to child abuse and neglect prevention. At the conclusion of tax season, total funds raised by all Roni Deutch Tax Centers will be donated to PCA America to support its programs, which serve more than 40,000 families annually, and communication efforts to ensure that prevention is prioritized right from the start so that child abuse and neglect never occur.
