KANSAS CITY, MO (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Today H&R Block (NYSE: HRB) announced its free H&R Block Tax Answers App is available from the App Store. Now iPhone and iPod touch users can hold the expertise of H&R Block tax professionals in the palms of their hands. Whether it's getting a personalized answer to their toughest tax questions, passing the time with a 30-second tax trivia quiz or reviewing criteria for Heads of Household, the H&R Block App has the answers taxpayers want. After all, who isn't curious about how U.S. income taxes came to being? (Hint: it had to do with funding a war; think North vs. South, not Red Coats.)

"We know tax questions can arise any time," said Robert Turtledove, chief marketing officer of H&R Block. "The Tax Answers app puts H&R Block's expertise at people's fingertips no matter where they are or when they have questions."

The app connects users to the Get It Right(SM) Community which is manned by 1,000 H&R Block tax professionals ready to share their expertise. Thousands of previously answered questions can be browsed by topic or specific questions can be asked and submitted for a tax professional's response. Answers will be sent directly to the taxpayer, typically within 24 hours. Additionally, the Tax Answers App includes a tax lingo glossary that explains hundreds of often-confusing, tax-related terms. Other features include a quiz for those wanting to test their tax knowhow and an office locator to provide directions and help users set an appointment with a nearby H&R Block.
