Wyndham Brand Expands in Mexico with Monterrey Hotel

February 08, 2010 // Franchising.com // PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Continuing its expansion in Mexico, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts today announced the opening of the 198-room Wyndham® Casa Grande Monterrey.

Owned and operated by Operadora Casa Grande and located at Av. Lazaro Cardenas 2305 in San Pedro Garza Garcia, the former Radisson hotel is minutes from fine dining and shopping in downtown Monterrey. Nearby attractions include the Museum of Mexican History, Alfa Planetarium, Contemporary Art Museum, Monterrey Arena and area convention centers such as CONVEX and CINTERMEX.

"The opening of the Wyndham Casa Grande Monterrey underscores our commitment to expanding the Wyndham portfolio in key markets throughout Mexico," said Jeff Wagoner, president of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. "Its close proximity to key corporate complexes as well as numerous tourist attractions makes this a prime destination for business and leisure travelers alike."

Four other upscale all-inclusive resorts recently joined the Wyndham brand in Mexico: Beach Palace®, Wyndham Grande Resort in Cancun; Isla Mujeres Palace®, Wyndham Grand Resort in Isla Mujeres; Playacar Palace®, Wyndham Grand Resort in Riviera Maya and Xpu-Ha Palace®, Wyndham Resort, also in Riviera Maya.

The Wyndham Casa Grande Monterrey hotel features high-speed wireless Internet access, 24-hour health club, business center, executive lounge, heated outdoor pool, room service, laundry service, shoe-shine service, express check-in and check-out and 235 square feet of meeting space that includes outdoor gardens and can accommodate up to 450 guests.

According to General Director Gerardo Murray of Grupo Hotelero Casa Grande, the hotel's management company, the "already elegant hotel underwent a half-million dollar renovation to further enhance the guest experience and meet brand standards before joining the upscale Wyndham system."

Dining options include Los Nogales, a full-service restaurant specializing in international cuisine with full breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. Guests also may enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine at the hotel's sushi bar as well as gourmet coffee, snacks and light breakfast and lunch fare in the "EAT. REFRESH. LIVE" or E.R.L. Café, located in the hotel's lobby.

Guests of the Wyndham Casa Grande Monterrey can take advantage of the Wyndham brand's guest recognition program when they join Wyndham ByRequest®, which offers complimentary benefits including free high-speed Internet access, a choice of welcome snack and beverage, preferred pillow type, express check-in, guaranteed late check-out, local and long-distance calls, best available room upon arrival, photocopies, faxes and online receipts.

Members also earn Wyndham Rewards® points, which can be redeemed for free hotel stays, airline tickets, name-brand merchandise and dining and shopping gift cards, among other options. In lieu of points, members may elect to earn airline or rail miles with a variety of partners.

Through the program, guests of Mexico hotels, like the Wyndham Casa Grande Monterrey, can earn Wyndham Rewards® points each time they stay. Wyndham Rewards recently added Aeromexico to its earning and redemption network. To celebrate its addition to the program, Wyndham Rewards is awarding double miles through March 31 to members who select Aeromexico as their preferred air carrier.
