Honest-1 Auto Care Extends Commitment to Environment To Raise Grand Total of Planted Trees to 100,000

Eco-Friendly Auto Maintenance Chain Renews Partnership with American Forests To Fund Thousands of Tree Plantings in 2010

March 15, 2010 // Franchising.com // Scottsdale, Ariz. – Honest-1 Auto Care, the only national full-service auto repair and maintenance franchise that is 100 percent ESA™ Certified Eco-Friendly, announced today that it will fund the planting of an additional 60,000 trees during the coming year, adding to the 40,000 planted last year. Through the renewed partnership with American Forests, the grand total will reach100,000 trees planted.

In a long-term collaboration that began in 2009 with American Forests, the leading nonprofit organization that plants trees for environmental restoration, Honest-1 Auto Care will fund the planting of thousands of new trees through the charitable donation of revenues collected from repair orders during the coming year, at no additional cost to customers. Classified as a High Corporate Donor, Honest-1 Auto Care is the only auto repair franchise chain to again enter into a year-long agreement of this magnitude with American Forests.

"As the most eco-friendly auto repair and maintenance chain in the nation, it is important for us to extend our commitment to restoring nature's beauty," said Jack Keilt, President and CEO of Honest-1 Auto Care. "The owners of all of our shops across the country have agreed that planting trees on behalf of our customers is the perfect way for us to give back to the communities we serve."

For a customer who is vigilant about regular check-ups and routine maintenance, Honest-1 could donate several trees on that one person's behalf alone. With thousands of repair orders during the last year and franchise locations increasing, Honest-1 Auto Care estimates that at least 60,000 orders will be placed in 2010. The donated trees will go to forests in the United States that have been severely harmed by wildfire, disease, pests, development and natural disaster.

The renewed partnership with American Forests is the second recent major eco-friendly partnership for Honest-1 Auto Care. The brand has partnered with Green Earth Technologies to add the company's G-OIL Ultimate Biodegradable motor oil, made completely of renewable animal fats, to Honest-1 Auto Care's extensive line of additives which reduce pollution.
