NEW YORK // PRNewswire-FirstCall // -- Weight Watchers International, Inc. (NYSE: WTW) today announced the appointment of David Burwick to serve as its President, North America, effective April 30, 2010. Burwick will oversee the Company's largest business unit, its North American meetings operations, which includes its North American products, publishing and licensing businesses, as well as marketing oversight for the full range of the Company's North American products and services and the Company's North American internet offerings. Burwick will be reporting to David P. Kirchhoff, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company.
Burwick joins the Company after having spent 20 years in various roles at PepsiCo, Inc. Most recently, Burwick was Chief Marketing Officer for PepsiCo North America Beverages, headquartered in New York. Before assuming that position in April 2008, he had been Executive Vice President, Commercial, of PepsiCo International and President of Pepsi-QTG Canada, headquartered in Toronto, a position he held from November 2005 to March 2008. Burwick held several positions with Pepsi-Cola North America, including serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer from June 2002 until immediately prior to his move to Pepsi-QTG Canada. Burwick received his B.A. degree from Middlebury College and his M.B.A. degree from the Harvard Business School.
