Marcia Woon Choy is the first ActionCOACH in Jamaica

Marcia Woon Choy is excited to help her country of Jamaica make small businesses successful.

May 18, 2010 // Franchising.com // Las Vegas - ActionCOACH is breaking into a new business coaching market in Jamaica. Jamaica will be the twenty-ninth (29th) territory for ActionCOACH. Marcia Woon Choy is the newest business coach to join the ActionCOACH team and will be heading up this new territory. Woon Choy is excited to bring the ActionCOACH systems to Jamaica.

ActionCOACH is the world's leader in business and executive coaching. When Brad Sugars, Chairman and Founder, started the company in 1993, it was still in its nascent stages. By franchising the company in 1997, Sugars helped business coaching become more mainstream turning it into the second fastest growing category behind Information Technology. ActionCOACH specializes in coaching small to medium size business as well as executive teams and group coaching.

Woon Choy, a business owner herself, first heard about ActionCOACH while reading the local newspaper online where she saw an ad that asked the question, "Do you think you can be a Business Coach?" She responded to the ad knowing that with her past career experience and her goal to expand her current business, that being an ActionCOACH business coach was a perfect fit for her.

She comes to ActionCOACH with an impressive background. Since 2007, she has run her own business offering consulting and training services primarily to financial institutional clients. Prior to that, she was the Vice President and Global Transaction Services Business Head for Citigroup Jamaica where she worked for fifteen (15) years. She has impacted the Jamaican banking landscape tremendously by introducing the concept of Internet and electronic banking into the market. Woon Choy has also been an integral part of the development of the two phases of the local Automated Clearing House in Jamaica. She hopes to impact the business coaching world as much as she has the Financial Services one in Jamaica. She has gained skills in finance, business and product development, leading and training client management and sales teams and more. She plans to take her knowledge and incorporate them with the ActionCOACH system.

"I have been a business owner since 2007 so I know the struggles my clients are going through. I wish I had an ActionCOACH at the start of my business to answer my business questions. With my current business I am helping on the financial side. I wanted to expand my services to the non-financial services companies by offering new services that would assist them in the growth and development of their business while continuing to expand my own knowledge and skills," said Ms Woon Choy.

She believes that bringing ActionCOACH to Jamaica is going to have a great impact on businesses in the country. Jamaica is in a major economic and financial crisis and with her help, she hopes to bring success to other small and medium size businesses as she has done for her own.

"I am excited to impact businesses that avail themselves of the services of ActionCOACH," exclaims Woon Choy.

She completed her ActionCOACH training in Las Vegas, Nevada where the ActionCOACH Global Office is located. The training consisted of 10-days of learning the ActionCOACH systems and techniques and how to merge them with the business knowledge already gained. On completion of her training she returned to Kingston where her office is located. She will practice throughout the entire island of Jamaica. Master Licensee for the Caribbean region, Arnout Druyvesteyn and Janine Lie-A-Kwie are excited to bring Woon Choy on board to expand the ActionCOACH brand.

ActionCOACH is the world's number one business coaching and executive coaching firm, with more than 1,000 offices in 29 countries.
