Choice Hotels International Announces 2010 Inn of the Year Winners

15 Properties Selected as the Best of the Best at Choice Hotels International 56th Annual Convention

SILVER SPRING, Md. // PRNewswire-FirstCall // -- Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH) announced earlier this month that 15 of the company's franchised properties were honored at the company's 56th Annual Convention in Las Vegas, Nev.—each coming home as a 2010 Inn of the Year award winning hotel. From every corner of the United States and across the world, this year's winning hotels represent the "best of the best" among over 6,000 hotels worldwide thanks to their amazing guest satisfaction and consistent brand performance.

"The owners, general managers and employees of these hotels should be proud to receive recognition of such a great accomplishment," said Stephen P. Joyce, president and chief executive officer for Choice Hotels. "This selection of elite properties truly represent the strongest, most dedicated, most consistent performers among the thousands of hotels within our global system."

The Inn of the Year winners are selected in part by reviewing each property's guest satisfaction scores, which are calculated using the results of surveys that are emailed to hotel guests within three days of their checkout. Selection of the award-winning properties, also based on Quality Assurance Review scores, is ultimately determined by the Choice Hotels Owners Council, the Econo Lodge Franchise Association and the Rodeway Owners Association, with collaboration from Choice Hotels among a selection of the company's brands.

This year's award winners all ranked within the top two percent of hotels within their brand. The 2010 Inn of the Year award winners are:

Comfort Inn – Urban: Comfort Inn & Suites Downtown at the Clinton Library of Little Rock, Ark.

Comfort Inn – Suburban: Comfort Inn Sedalia Station of Sedalia, Mo.

Comfort Suites: Comfort Suites Ontario Airport of Ontario, Calif.

Quality: Quality Inn & Suites of Waco, Texas

Sleep Inn: Sleep Inn at North Scottsdale Road of Scottsdale, Ariz.

Clarion: Clarion Inn of Garden City, Kan.

Cambria Suites: Cambria Suites of Akron/Canton, Ohio

MainStay Suites: MainStay Suites Airport of Roanoke, Va.

Suburban Extended Stay Hotel: Suburban Extended Stay Hotel Northeast of Indianapolis, Ind.

Econo Lodge: Econo Lodge Inn & Suites East of Knoxville, Tenn.

Rodeway Inn: Rodeway Inn & Suites of Kearney, Neb.

Ascend Collection: Norfolk Lodge & Suites, an Ascend Collection hotel, of Norfolk, Neb.
