Casual dining franchise takes 11th place ranking on list of rising Canadian business stars
CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - June 2, 2010) - Original Joe's Restaurant and Bar (Original Joe's) has been named to PROFIT Magazine's 22nd annual PROFIT 100 ranking of Canada's Fastest-Growing Companies. Canada's largest annual celebration of entrepreneurial achievement, the 22nd annual PROFIT 100 ranked Joe's 11th on its prestigious list which is published in the magazine's June issue.
"We are thrilled to be named as one of PROFIT magazine's 100 Fastest-Growing Companies and to be among so many outstanding Canadian companies," says Derek Doke, President of Original Joe's. "This recognition is a testament to our team, who are passionate about delivering a quality service and product, and to our loyal customers who have helped make us who we are today."
Joe's opened the doors to its first restaurant and bar in Calgary in 1997, developing a presence as a down-to-earth neighbourhood meeting place, and quickly becoming a fast-growing casual dining franchise. Original Joe's has maintained successful growth through customer loyalty, a great menu with fresh, comfort food and a commitment to the local communities in which it operates.
Today, Original Joe's continues to grow and raise the bar while never compromising on the values that made it what it is. Each location is recognizable as a Joe's, but maintains its own local flair. Customers can expect fresh and comforting food choices, and well-selected beer, spirits and wines. Now boasting 33 locations in Western Canada and development plans to expand into Ontario and the U.S., Original Joe's shows no signs of slowing down.
The PROFIT 100 ranks Canada's Fastest-Growing Companies according to their five-year revenue growth. For the 2010 ranking, companies were assessed according to their gross revenues for 2004 and 2009. Displaying entrepreneurship of the first order, no company on the 2010 PROFIT 100 list grew by less than 100% over the past five years.
"Canada's Fastest-Growing Companies are the poster children for entrepreneurship, innovation and pure tenacity," says Ian Portsmouth, editor of PROFIT. "They demonstrate what it takes to succeed in today's highly competitive, technology-driven global economy."
Original Joe's is a full serve casual restaurant and bar with a primary customer base of adults 25 to 55 years of age. The concept continues to grow into a strong community brand, each location with its own distinctive characteristics.
