Children's Orchard of Santa Clarita Recognized for Business Excellence

Local Upscale-Resale Store Earns Rookie of the Year Award at National Conference

June 08, 2010 // Franchising.com // Santa Clarita, CA – Children's Orchard of Santa Clarita was recently recognized for its success in business with the Rookie of the Year Award at the company's national conference in Ann Arbor, MI.

This month, Janell Costello was recognized for her achievement in demonstrating exceptional performance in her first full year of operation. As the owner of the Santa Clarita store, she increased sales by over 11% and traffic by 25% in her first year. For 2010 year to date her sales are up another 26% and traffic is up 32%.

The 2010 Children's Orchard Franchise Conference took place last month at the corporate headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI. Children's Orchard franchise owners from across the country came together to learn from one another and share best practices.

At a traditional retail store, customers would expect to pay $50 or more for a Gymboree dress; the same dress would cost around $7 at Children's Orchard. Similarly, GAPKIDS, Abercrombie, Tommy Hilfiger Kids separates that cost upwards of $70 at most stores would likely be closer to $12-$15 at Children's Orchard.
