Gold River Residents Demonstrate Support for Local School at Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill(R) Pre-Opening Event

CARLSBAD, Calif. (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) -- Gold River residents donated $3,000 on June 2nd to their local school, Gold River Discovery Center, during a pre-opening fundraiser held at the new Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill in Gold River. In lieu of paying at the register, diners were encouraged to contribute money to the Gold River school, understanding that 100 percent of donations went directly to them. Rubio's showed its support by allowing participants to order any menu item free of charge throughout the two-hour event.

At 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 3rd, the new restaurant's doors permanently opened to Rubio's fans in Gold River who crave the Baja-inspired food in the relaxed yet festive atmosphere of coastal Mexico. The menu features Rubio's World Famous Fish Tacos(R), Grilled Gourmet Tacos(SM), the Big Burrito EspeciaL(SM) with chargrilled chicken or steak, freshly-made salads and Rubio's proprietary HealthMex(R) line of tacos and burritos, which are under 700 calories, less than 30 percent of which come from fat.

The Gold River Rubio's will employ 30 team members from the local community. It is the 10th Rubio's in the Sacramento Area in addition to Elk Grove, three Sacramento locations, Folsom, Rancho Cordova and three Roseville locations.
