Fitness Together Franchise Personal Trainers Take Tulsa Contest by Storm

Muscling In on the Bodybuilding Scene: Husband and wife personal trainers take Tulsa contest by storm

June 22, 2010 // Franchising.com // OWASSO, Okla. – Steve and Paula Dibbins, of Owasso, Okla. are Certified Personal Trainers who coach clients daily on how to lose weight, get in shape and lead a healthy life. But most importantly they can finally relax and have that slice of pizza they have been craving since February.

That's because the Dibbins, who co-own two Fitness Together studios in Owasso and Bartlesville, Okla. recently competed in their first bodybuilding contest at the Thoreau Academy in Tulsa. They entered the "Battle of the Bodies" exhibition as amateurs but came away as winners as Steve took second place in the men's novice heavyweight division and Paula won second place in the woman's short bikini division.

"The goal of competing in the Battle of the Bodies was not to place, but put ourselves in a student role to better understand the client-trainer relationship," said Steve.

Preparing for the competition, Steve and Paula, both in their mid-40s, lived a fitness extreme. Led by their own coaches; Professional Body Builder, Michael and his wife, Professional Figure & Fitness Competitor, Kendra, the Dibbins ate seven meals a day, cooked & prepared their own meals, completed multiple cardio & workouts in between training clients, and running two studios.

"This whole experience would not have been the same with out Michael and Kendra," Steve explains. "Nothing compares to having someone there to hold you accountable. In fact, they have given me a new respect for what we ask of our clients in one-on-one personal training sessions at Fitness Together.
