The Clarion Inn & Suites Franchise - Murfreesboro, Tennessee Has Been Acquired by Gateway Hospitality Services of Tennessee, Inc

On April 28, 2010, Gateway Hospitality Services of Tennessee took ownership of the Clarion Inn and Suites located at the intersection of I-24 and Old Fort Parkway in Murfreesboro, TN.

Murfreesboro, TN --(PR.com)-- The Clarion Inn and Suites Murfreesboro, the soon to be area's largest hotel provider of double/double accommodations, (2 beds per room) in Rutherford County, was recently purchased. On April 28, 2010, Gateway Hospitality Services of Tennessee took ownership of the Clarion Inn and Suites located at the intersection of I-24 and Old Fort Parkway in Murfreesboro, TN.

During the first six months, over $1 million in property improvements are planned, with some already in progress. These include: a complete re-paint of the facility with a color scheme change on the inside and out, new landscaping and greenery to enhance the interior and exterior facade, new parking lot, new bedding – with 25 existing single accommodations being converted to rooms with two double beds, enhanced property and I-24 billboard signage, new phone system, to name a few.

One of the most popular and recognizable parts of the hotel remains the unique Atrium layout providing hotel guests with poolside access and year-round fun no matter what the outside weather. "Groups need to know that their hotel understands their needs," said Mona Herring, Vice President of the Rutherford County convention and Visitors Bureau. "The Clarion's switch to guest rooms with two double beds will be more convenient for accommodating sports teams who visit the area and the indoor pool will be a great way for them to have fun and relax when they're not competing."

When asked why the decision was made to purchase this property, Managing Partner of GHS, Dr. Rao Chunduru replied, "The Clarion's primary exit location and property attributes provide the perfect venue for individual guests and group celebrations that seek quality hotel and event accommodations with an eye on value. The property's location, floor plan, price, and the service to be provided will set us apart and meet the needs of incoming guests to our city, as well as, our local community."

About the Clarion Inn and Suites - Murfreesboro, Tennessee

Initially constructed as a 105 room Holiday Inn situated at 2227 Old Fort Parkway, Murfreesboro, TN 37129, it was the first full-service hotel built off exit 78B/Old Fort Parkway. In 1987 a second tower of 74 rooms was added parallel to I-24 and then enclosed to create what was then called the Holiday Inn Holidome. This feature provides for over 60,000 cubic feet of space with an indoor pool, multiple function capabilities, and air temperature of 72 degrees year-round. In May, 2008, the hotel was converted to a Clarion Inn and Suites, but within days after the transition, a past owner declared bankruptcy and the property ultimately reverted to the bank. Because of the capital improvement shortfalls the hotel was not able to complete a full re-launch to the new Clarion Brand as is customary. Currently plans are under way to officially re-launch in late August, 2010.
