CALGARY, ALBERTA - (Marketwire) - Athletes World, the premier specialty retailer of footwear and apparel in athletic and street fashion (a corporate banner of The Forzani Group Ltd. (TSX:FGL)), is excited to work with Danny Fernandes in its upcoming Back to School photo shoot in Toronto.

Danny Fernandes and Athletes World partnered together on the AW Do You Stand Out? contest. Entrants were asked to upload a photo showing their "AW style" for a chance to win a trip to Toronto to appear in the AW Back to School photo shoot with Danny Fernandes. The photo shoot takes place on Monday, July 5th and Tuesday, July 6th in downtown Toronto.

Danny Fernandes is Canada's R&B rising star. The Toronto native's breakout career was propelled by his synth-fuelled smash hit Private Dancer in 2008 - one of the hottest Top 10 singles on Canadian airwaves, burning up the playlists at Top 40 stations across the country.

"I sleep, eat and breathe music from when I wake up until I go to bed. I like to make music I can dance to," says Fernandes.

Danny doesn't just think he can dance – he knows it. 2008 saw Danny performing his way across Canada coast to coast opening for Girlicious on their 18-date Canadian tour. He blew away thousands of competitors to become the youngest member of the Toronto Raptor's famed Dance Pak and started appearing regularly as a backup dancer in music videos. No stranger to touring, he's hit the road dancing with the likes of Aaron Carter, Blackstreet, Deborah Cox and, of course, his big brother Sean Desman, with whom he toured the world for an entire year, even playing the NBA All-Star game in Atlanta.

With a #1 video at MuchMusic under his belt for Private Dancer, Danny's new single and video, Fantasy, is aptly titled. It's already moved quickly into the Top 10 at radio and the video has a cameo from his tour-mates, Girlicious, who've become close friends.
