Nixon Peabody Expands Global Finance Practice in New York; Corporate Trust Partner Charles Dietzgen Joins Firm's New York City Office

New York, NY. International law firm Nixon Peabody LLP announces the arrival of Charles A. Dietzgen as partner in the firm's Corporate Trust and Global Finance practices. Mr. Dietzgen is well known in the corporate trust industry, having advised many of the leading corporate trust banks for many years. He joins Nixon Peabody from Sonnenshein, which he joined in 2009, having spent his entire career prior to that at Thacher, Proffitt & Wood.

July 06, 2010 // Franchising.com // Mr. Dietzgen is highly sought after by corporate trustees for his experience in structured finance and securitization transactions, including both asset-backed securities and mortgage-backed securities. His practice ranges from representation in new transactions to providing regulatory and compliance advice, to assisting clients in the resolution of problem situations, restructurings, and disputes.

Mr. Dietzgen has also served as counsel to master servicers in public and private debt and pass-through offerings, and to lenders, underwriters, placement agents, and issuers in the securitization of loans secured by marine vessels and boat charters, structured mortgage loan placements, credit-enhanced financings, and in the acquisition and financing of aircraft, rolling stock, and other types of equipment through leveraged lease structures.

"Charles' depth and breadth of experience in asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities will be particularly valuable to our clients as they face the challenge of financial reform legislation and SEC regulatory reform over the next few years. Charles will be an important enhancement to our team as we look ahead to the return of active securitization markets," said Robert Coughlin, leader of the firm's Corporate Trust practice. "Charles' reputation is at the top of the market. As one of the leading firms serving the corporate trust industry, Charles is a perfect fit with our practice, as we focus on providing our clients with the best and most comprehensive service."

"Expanding our corporate trust and global finance practices in New York is a strategic priority for us," added Arthur Rosner, managing partner of Nixon Peabody's New York City office. "Charles will be a great addition to these practices and to our New York City office."

Mr. Dietzgen earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. He has an M.B.A. from New York University and received his bachelor's degree from Georgetown University.

Nixon Peabody's Global Finance practice serves clients across a range of areas, including leveraged finance (on both the company and lender sides), equipment finance, corporate trust and default administration, distressed debt trading, structured finance, and bank regulatory work.
