Wingstop Franchise Hits Seven Straight Years of Comp Restaurant Sales Increases

National wing chain ends Q2 with its 28th consecutive quarter of positive comparable store sales

DALLAS // PRNewswire // -- Wingstop continues to defy industry trends. As one of the fastest growing chains in the nation, the company has reached 28 consecutive quarters of positive comparable store sales – that's seven straight years of continued growth for the 16-year old brand. Wingstop has announced that same store sales for the first two quarters of 2010 are up 1.5 percent over 2009.

"This is the seventh year in a row our numbers have been up," said Jim Flynn, Wingstop CEO. "That we have been able to achieve steady, positive growth when so many concepts are struggling says a lot about our franchisees, our staff and the loyalty of our guests. We would like to thank them all for helping us reach this huge milestone."

Ninety-five percent of the 447 Wingstop stores across the U.S. and Mexico are franchise owned and operated and the chain plans to open 50 more franchised locations this year, including the first store in New York and additional restaurants in Mexico, Chicago and Kansas City.

"We're proud of so many of the achievements in our system," added Flynn. "From opening new stores, to our dedicated, focused menu of chicken wings, to expanding internationally, but above all else, we are proud to continue our positive comp store sales streak. When our comp sales are up that means our franchisees, the backbone of our company, are doing well. As a franchisor that's the best news we can receive."
