Nixon Peabody Adds to Health Services Practice Group; Partner Peter Egan Advises Clients on Business, Regulatory and Transactional Matters

New York, NY. International law firm Nixon Peabody LLP announces the arrival of Peter Egan, a new partner in the firm's Health Services practice. Mr. Egan will split his time between the firm's New York City and Long Island offices. He focuses his practice on advising clients on a variety of business, regulatory, and transactional matters.

July 14, 2010 // Franchising.com // Mr. Egan regularly provides counsel on matters such as routine and complex business transactions, as well as regulatory and tax analysis on behalf of for-profit health care companies, medical centers, and not-for-profit providers. Mr. Egan has a strong background in structuring joint ventures and implementing relationships between clients and their employed/affiliated physician groups.

In addition to previous legal industry experience, Mr. Egan has worked as a consultant in Ernst & Young's Health Care Group. In this role, he focused on identifying and addressing financial and corporate structure issues facing the area's health care providers and helped advise a wide range of clients, from entrepreneurs to large health care systems.

Mr. Egan is a member of the New York State, Connecticut, and Nassau County bar associations, and is also a member of the executive committee of the Connecticut Bar Association's Health Law Section and the Nassau County Bar Association's Hospital and Health Law Committee. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School and received his B.A. from Columbia University.
