Build-A-Bear Workshop Franchise Salutes U.S. Troops by Donating over $144,000 to the USO

ST. LOUIS (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Build-A-Bear Workshop(R), the interactive entertainment retailer of customized stuffed animals, announced today that it is donating more than $144,000 through the Build-A-Bear Workshop Foundation to the USO, which provides morale, welfare and recreational activities to service members and their families. Funds were raised May 3 through June 7, when Guests at Build-A-Bear Workshop retail locations in the United States were invited to make a $1 donation to support the USO. Also during this time frame, members of the armed services and their direct dependents received a 20% discount on any purchase at Build-A-Bear Workshop stores in the United States.

"By coming together with our Guests, we are able to help the brave men and women who do so much for our country," said Maxine Clark, Build-A-Bear Workshop founder and chief executive bear. "With the funding raised, we are providing troops with free Internet access, libraries, game rooms, nursery facilities, and other needed services."
