Buffalo Attorney to Receive Minority Bar Association's President's Award; Office Managing Partner Susan Roney to be Recognized

August 11, 2010 // Franchising.com // Buffalo, NY. International law firm Nixon Peabody LLP is pleased to announce that Buffalo Office Managing Partner Susan C. Roney is the recipient of this year's President's Award from the Minority Bar Association of Western New York (MBAWNY). Ms. Roney will receive her award on September 16, during MBAWNY's 28th Annual Scholarship and Awards Dinner at the Buffalo-Niagara Convention Center.

Nominees must also "demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity and exemplify leadership through work in our legal community or with local not-for-profit organizations." The MBAWNY's Executive Committee specifically highlighted Ms. Roney's work with Buffalo Prep, the Attorney Grievance Committee, Roswell Park, and the International Association of Defense Counsel's Diversity Committee, among others.

Ms. Roney, an attorney in the firm's commercial litigation practice group, is being recognized for her "gracious and inspirational leadership" roles in numerous legal and and not-for-profit organizations.
