Smashburger Sizzles Into Clifton's Allwood Plaza Shopping Center On 10/26

The "Better Burger" Restaurant Expands to Its First Passaic County Location

DATELINE - Smashburger, a fast-casual "better burger" restaurant, will open at the Allwood Shopping Plaza located at 700 Route 3 West in Clifton, New Jersey on Tuesday, October 26, 2010. The restaurant's opening will continue Smashburger's mission to become the Garden State's favorite place for burgers. Other New Jersey Smashburger locations include Montclair, Hackensack and Florham Park. New Providence and Morris Plains locations will be coming soon.

New Jersey's Smashburger restaurants feature a regional menu, that includes:

• The New Jersey Smashburger – 100-percent Certified Angus Beef burger topped with applewood smoked bacon, blue cheese crumbles, grilled onions, haystack onions, lettuce, tomato and mayo, served on an onion bun.
• The Taylor Ham®, Egg and Cheeseburger – 100-percent Certified Angus Beef smashed on the grill topped with Taylor Ham, fried egg, American cheese, haystack onions and ketchup on an egg bun.
• Smashdogs – Made with Newark's famous "Best's" brand hot dogs and available in two regional versions: the Jersey Dog which features sauerkraut, grilled onions and brown mustard, and the Italian Dog made with peppers, potatoes and onions.
• Bottled Stewarts® Float in a Frosted Mug – Root Beer, Orange n' Cream or Wishniak Black Cherry and Häagen-Dazs® ice cream.

Recently named the "Best Burger in Essex County" by Suburban Essex Magazine, Smashburger is so named for the cooking method used to create the perfect burger. Smashburgers are a one-third or half-pound ball of 100-percent—fresh, not frozen—Certified Angus Beef smashed on a flat grill to sear in the juicy flavor. To further the "better burger" experience, Smashburgers are served on a toasted artisan bun and topped with a selection of real cheeses, the freshest produce and top-quality condiments.

Although known for its savory burgers, Smashburger also offers delicious Smashchicken sandwiches, Smashdogs and Smashsalads – as well as delectable sides such as haystack onions, veggie frites, sweet potato Smashfries and rosemary and garlic-seasoned Smashfries.
