La Quinta Inns & Suites Selected as Official Hotel Partner for 7-Eleven(R) Stores' Slurpee(R) Unity Tour 2010

DALLAS, Nov. 9, 2010 // PRNewswire // -- La Quinta Inns & Suites has united with the Slurpee® Unity Tour as a convoy embarked on a 14-day road trip to the nation's capitol to promote unity and bringing people together. La Quinta will be providing the Unity Tour hotel accommodations each night to help ensure they start their day refreshed and full of optimism.

Last week, President Barack Obama joked with reporters that he might serve America's favorite drink, the Slurpee, when he meets with new Republican House leadership. In response, 7-Eleven hit the road with five sampling trailers and hopes to host a "Slurpee Summit" in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 18.

As part of the tour, a new Slurpee flavor is being introduced - "Purple for the People," a blend of red and blue colors. It is a reinforcement of the unity message that when you bring different flavors together the result is always better.
