Susan Shields Joins The Organic Center Board of Directors

BOULDER, Colo., Nov 11, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Organic Center, today announced that Susan Shields, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Jamba Juice Company (NASDAQ: JMBA) has joined the Board of Directors at The Organic Center, a nationally recognized organization whose mission is the advancement of scientific research and communication to the public on the health and environmental benefits of organic food and farming.

Susan has been Jamba's senior vice president and chief marketing officer since November 2009 and is responsible for helping to drive comprehensive growth of the Jamba brand through leadership of all system-wide marketing and product development initiatives. Susan has over 20 years of strategic leadership experience in marketing, brand and product development, innovation, and business development within the retail and consumer packaged goods food industry with an emphasis on the development of better-for-you food offerings.

Ms. Shields joined Jamba Juice January 2009 as vice president of Consumer Products, Licensing, and Growth Initiatives and in November 2009 assumed her current position as senior vice president and chief marketing officer. Prior to joining Jamba Juice, Susan held the positions of senior vice president, Innovation and Product Development at Beautiful, Inc., group vice president of Innovation for Safeway's Consumer Brands Division, senior vice president of New Ventures and Marketing at Del Monte Foods and has held numerous positions with the Quaker Oats Company. Ms. Shields holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where she was an Austin Scholar, and she has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College. Susan current sits on the Board of Directors for the Berkeley Chapter of the YMCA. She is an advocate for healthy, active living and, when not occupied in advancing the healthy lifestyle agenda at Jamba Juice, can be found engaged in any number of activities with her family of five plus two dogs including running, cycling, surfing, and skiing.
