Former Quiznos Franchisee Named Chief Operating Officer

Executive Vice President of Operations and Former Franchisee to Lead Operations for Quiznos

DENVER, CO - (Marketwire - November 16, 2010) - Quiznos, pioneer of the toasted sandwich and one of the nation's premier restaurant chains for subs, salads and soups, today named Michael Roper chief operating officer of Quiznos worldwide.

Roper, most recently EVP of operations for Quiznos, has been a member of the Quiznos family for nearly 12 years. His experience includes six years as a franchise owner -- opening his first restaurant in 2000 -- eventually growing his business to four high-volume restaurants in the Chicago area. His success was recognized with the award for Quiznos Franchise Owner of the Year in 2002.

"With his comprehensive background in both in-store and Quiznos-wide operations, Michael brings a wealth of Quiznos experience and brand knowledge to the role of COO," said Greg MacDonald, CEO of Quiznos. "He has a deep understanding of what it takes to run a successful restaurant and how to increase sales at a grassroots level."

Roper has already implemented several programs on the franchise level designed to improve the overall dining experience for customers. In 2009, with approximately 20 percent of Quiznos franchises operating at desired levels, Roper made specific customer-focused changes in operations, such as the "Fast, Fresh, Hot and Clean" project, which helped more than 90 percent of Quiznos franchises surpass corporate operations standards in just 10 months.

"Quiznos is a much-loved brand with an innovative menu, loyal guests and a longstanding tradition of excellent operations," said Roper. "Our customers know and trust the level of excellence they can expect in each and every Quiznos location, and I look forward to working with our leadership team and Franchise Owners to continually elevate the guest experience for all Quiznos locations worldwide."

As COO, Roper will work closely with MacDonald to drive operational improvements that best serve Quiznos customers, franchisees and the brand.

Replacing Roper as EVP of operations is Mark Rogers. Rogers has more than 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry, including 12 years with Quiznos as a franchise owner and area director. Rogers was named VP Operations in early 2010, assuming leadership of the Quiznos field support team. Rogers will continue directing the company's field support team, as well as oversee compliance and Quiznos University -- the company's in-depth training and certification program for franchise owners and restaurant managers.
