Local Restaurant Operator Earns Top bd's Mongolian Grill Honor
Dave Mehl Earns Multi-Unit Franchise Operator of the Year Award at the bd's Mongolian Grill Second Annual Workshop
November 16, 2010 // Franchising.com // LEXINGTON, Ky. – Honoring his superior leadership and success, bd's Mongolian Grill recently presented Dave Mehl the prestigious Multi-Unit Franchise Operator of the Year Award at the company's Second Annual Workshop in Orlando, Fla.
With more than three decades of experience in the restaurant industry, Mehl is a seasoned veteran when it comes to enhancing restaurant operations. Never one to settle for less than the best, he has led his three bd's Mongolian Grill locations, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Louisville and Lexington, Ky., to significant sales increases, earning him the award.
Mehl has become known to push his teammates to reach new levels of success through increased restaurant sales, marketing initiatives and community outreach. "We are proud to honor Dave with this award for his notable accomplishments within the franchise system," said Tom Ragan, vice president of franchising for bd's Mongolian Grill. "He continually inspires us to go above and beyond our goals. We are thrilled he has become such a vital member of our team."
Joining bd's Mongolian Grill more than three years ago as franchisee Hemal Patel's operating partner, Mehl continues to grow bd's Mongolian Grill throughout Kentucky and southern Ohio with his proven operational methods. Systemwide, Mehl is known for his long list of community involvement initiatives, including partnerships with the United Way and Children's Miracle Network, as well as sponsoring the Blue Grass State games, the largest sporting event in Kentucky.
"I am humbled by this recognition," said Mehl, who sits on the company's Franchise Advisory Committee and previously ran restaurants with Papa John's and other well-known brands.
