Wyndham Launches Event Rewards and Double Points for Meetings in China

November 22, 2010 // Franchising.com // PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, LLC, part of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation (NYSE: WYN), today announced the launch of its Wyndham Event Rewards® program in China, offering up to one million Wyndham Rewards® frequent traveler points to meeting professionals who book events at any of its Wyndham® properties globally, as well as double rewards for events booked and held at any of the brand's Wyndham hotels in China.

Meeting planners and travel agents can earn 10 Wyndham Rewards points for each US$1 spent, from a minimum of US$2,500 to a maximum of US$100,000, on master-billed guest rooms as well as group food and beverage functions and meeting room rentals. Earned points, up to one million per event, can be redeemed for hundreds of gift reward options including hotel stays, premium entertainment merchandise, vacations and more.

From December 1, 2010, through February 28, 2011, meeting professionals can earn double reward points through Wyndham Event Rewards – 20 Wyndham Rewards points per US$1 spent – for every meeting booked in any of the brand's Wyndham Hotel or Wyndham Grand Collection locations in China including Shanghai, Hangzhou, Changsha, Chengdu and Xiamen. The hotels all are centrally located in major cities and provide world-class personalized services and the state-of-the-art meeting facilities, including the latest audio-visual equipment and wireless broadband.

The program has been expanded in China as a result of the brand's extensive growth in the country over the past year. The first Wyndham property in China, Wyndham Xiamen, opened in 2009. The chain now has six Wyndham branded properties currently open and another six under development in China.

Wyndham Rewards, the brand's loyalty program, has more than eight million active members. Wyndham Rewards points can be redeemed for hotel stays, airline tickets, name-brand merchandise and dining and shopping gift cards, among other options. Wyndham Xiamen

The 588-room Wyndham Xiamen is situated at the center of Xiamen's business and shopping district, overlooking Gulangyu Island. The hotel's nearly 1,300-square-meter grand ballroom can accommodate up to 1,000 event attendees.

Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale West Lake Hangzhou

The 283-room Wyndham Grand Plaza Royal West Lake Hangzhou is located in the northeast corner of West Lake in Hangzhou's business district. The hotel's expansive, pillar-less ballroom is the only ballroom in the city that looks out at the scenic West Lake Hills.

Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale Oriental Shanghai and Wyndham Bund East Shanghai

Wyndham Hotels and Resorts' two properties in Shanghai, the Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale Oriental Shanghai and the Wyndham Bund East Shanghai, are located in the heart of one of the most popular meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) destinations in Asia.

The 523-room Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale Oriental Shanghai is ideally located along Pudong Avenue, overlooking the Huang Pu River and near Shanghai's high technology zones, financial districts, the Shanghai New International Expo Center and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale Furongguo Changsha

The 316-room Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale Furongguo Changsha, near the historical Tianxin Pavilion, offers panoramic views Yuelu Mountain and Juzi Island. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the Huangxing Road Shopping Center, the Dongtang Business District, the Houjiatang Business District and Helong Stadium. Its pillar-less Plaza Royale Grand ballroom ranges up to 520 square meters and can easily accommodate up to 600 people.

Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale Palace Chengdu

The 420-room Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale Palace Chengdu is located in the western part of the Chengdu High Tech Industry Zone and is close to many of the city's popular attractions. The hotel offers more than 3,000 square meters of flexible space for a variety of meetings and events.

Guest room charges must be included on a master bill to qualify toward the total event purchase. Points will be awarded based on actual group room nights consumed during the event, regardless of the contracted amount. Multiday events on a single contract will constitute a single event for rewards purposes. Blackout dates and some restrictions may apply.
