January 04, 2011 // Franchising.com // TUALATIN, Ore. – Bishops Barbershop, cuts and colors for men and women, today announced that franchisee Paul Ito has opened his shop in Bridgeport Village, at 7192 SW Hazel Fern Road in Tualatin. He recently opened a Bishops Barbershop in Orenco Station.
"I've known Bishops founder Leo Rivera for more than 25 years, and have watched the brand grow to multiple locations," Ito said. "I knew I wanted more than one shop, and when both of these locations became available at the same time, I felt I had to seize the opportunity."
For the past 15 years, Ito has enjoyed a career in the golf industry, as a PGA professional and most recently, as general manager for the Puakea golf course in Kauai, Hawaii.
"I've enjoyed the golf business, but am ready for a change," Ito said. "Once Leo started franchising, I decided it was the right time to be part of Bishops. It's a popular, well-known brand in the greater Portland area. There's been lots of local buzz about the new shop because so many people are excited to have a Bishops in their neighborhood."
"We are very pleased to welcome Paul into the Bishops family, and look forward to working with him as we continue to extend our footprint throughout Oregon," Rivera said.
