Jiffy Lube's Southern California Regional Cooperative Association Teams up with the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Support of the "Make a Muscle…Make a Difference" Campaign

LOS ANGELES --(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Jiffy Lube's Southern California Regional Cooperative Association announced today that it will partner with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) in support of MDA's mission of funding treatments and cures, and providing health care, support services, advocacy and education.

"The Make a Muscle….Make a Difference" campaign will kick-off, February 9 through March 30, 2011, at 123 Jiffy Lube locations throughout Los Angeles, Riverside, Ventura , San Bernardino, Kern and Orange Counties. During the campaign, participating Jiffy Lube service centers will offer customers coupon books with over $85 in savings on automotive maintenance care for a small donation of three dollars. All proceeds from the campaign will benefit MDA's research, programs and services.

Locally, funds will be used to provide clinic services at UCLA, UC Irvine, and Children's Hospital in Orange County and Rancho Los Amigos. Additionally, every year MDA sends hundreds of local children living with a muscle disease to a week long summer camp at the Irvine Ranch Education Center.

"It has always been part of Jiffy Lube's culture to give back to the community, so when we were presented with the opportunity to support MDA, we were very enthusiastic about it," said Rob Curry, president of Jiffy Lube's Southern California Regional Cooperative Association. "MDA is doing incredible work toward curing muscular dystrophy and offering support to those affected by the disease and we are delighted to be a part of it."

"We are incredibly grateful to Jiffy Lube for committing to supporting our cause," said Erin Kelly, executive director of the MDA, Los Angeles Chapter. " It is with this kind of generosity that MDA is able to continue to provide unparalleled research, medical and health services to thousands of adults and children across the country."
