Interim Healthcare Honors American Heart Month With Debut Of Second Video In Documentary Series

Franchise Healthcare Company Highlights Importance of Education During Recovery

March 01, 2011 // Franchising.com // SUNRISE, FL – Interim HealthCare, the nation's first and finest healthcare and in-home senior care franchise company, recently launched the second of its eight-part documentary series for 2011. In honor of American Heart Month, this video highlights the importance of the education and follow-up care that a senior woman receives in-home after an aortic valve repair.

The video is now available for viewing on Interim HealthCare's YouTube channel www.youtube.com/interimhealthcare and Facebook page www.fb.com/interimhealthcare. It focuses on Living with Heart Failure and highlights patient Delores Sherman, who is recuperating at home after open heart surgery for aortic stenosis. During the documentary, Care Professional Robert Adams, RN, shares the importance of maintaining activity level in order to return to living a normal life again weeks after surgery. Sherman's husband states that the education Interim provides, along with the availability of 24-hour assistance, has made all of the difference in his wife's recovery.

"February's American Heart Month is a terrific opportunity to raise awareness and encourage education about heart disease and its impact on patients and their families," said Kathleen Gilmartin, President and CEO of Interim HealthCare Inc. "Many heart surgery patients return home scared and confused about the next steps in their recovery. That's where our attentive home care professionals can step in and answer all of their questions in a more relaxed, personal environment."

There are eight videos in the documentary series, and they will debut throughout the year to focus on many aspects of the company's program. Future topics include Home Care for Joint Replacement Patients and Pediatric Therapy. All videos run in length from four-to-seven minutes and were filmed with actual Interim HealthCare patients and clients.

Interim HealthCare also offers a Living with Health Failure Program, which moves patients and their family caregivers along a pathway that prepares them for self care and self monitoring of their condition, while stabilizing their condition after an emergency room or hospital stay. Home nursing, therapy services and education are provided by skilled home health care clinicians.
