Wingstop Opens First Location in Monterrey, Mexico

Fast-growing wing chain opens seventh location in Mexico; part of five-store development agreement

March 04, 2011 // Franchising.com // RICHARDSON, Texas – Wingstop celebrated the grand opening of its first international location one year ago, and now the company is continuing to expand throughout Mexico, adding its first location in Monterrey and its seventh store in the country.

The new location opened this week and is part of a five-store development agreement for the State of Nuevo Leon with Restaurantès RCJ SA de CV. The agreement includes the cities of Monterrey, Salinas Victoria, Escobedo, Apodaca, Guadalupe, Juarez, Santiago, Santa Catarina and Garcia.

Earlier this year Wingstop announced it will add another 20 stores in the country thanks to an extended development agreement with current international franchisee WIS de Mexico S.A. de C.V.

"We are quickly adding new restaurants throughout Mexico City and gaining new wing fans every day. Now, with the addition of Monterrey, we're able to introduce a new community to Wingstop," said Jim Flynn, CEO of Wingstop. "In just over a year we've opened seven locations in the country and are on schedule to add another two dozen stores within a few years."
