Canadian Frozen Yogurt Brand Debuts Inside Citizen's Bank Park

Additional FroYo Cafés Anticipated in PA, NJ, DE and North Florida This Summer

April 05, 2011 // Franchising.com // Yogen Früz Master Franchisees Michael Geonnotti and Ron Perruzza were all smiles as they introduced their innovative frozen yogurt kiosks during a chilly home opener at Citizen's Bank Park in Philadelphia on April 1, 2011. The brisk weather didn't seem to bother the ambitious business partners, the NL East Champion Philadelphia Phillies or their loyal fans, as the sell-out crowd indulged in their first tastes of the creamy, fruity frozen treat while cheering on an exciting come-from-behind ninth inning Phillies victory.

Frigid Phillies fans seemed unfazed by the weather and quite impressed by the company's products and innovative production process. "Almost all of our customers are surprised that we blend the fruit and frozen yogurt together," said Michael Geonnotti. Customers choose either low fat vanilla, low fat chocolate or fat free sorbet, then select a frozen fruit to blend in. At the two kiosks inside Citizens Bank Park, consumers can choose blueberries, mango, strawberries, raspberries or bananas. Once the yogurt or sorbet and fruit choices are made, the ingredients are all fed into a "Mix It" machine, which produces a fruity and creamy treat for $6.50. Top it off with chocolate or rainbow sprinkles for no extra charge.

Experienced entrepreneurs with multiple successful start-ups under their belts, Geonnotti and Perruzza are the Master Franchisees for Yogen Früz USA for PA, NJ, DE and N FL. Michael Geonnotti, a lifelong Bucks County, PA resident, spent many years in the marine industry owning both boat dealerships and marinas. His most recent venture, Rush Home Services, is a construction management company specializing in residential and commercial projects throughout the Philadelphia suburbs. Ron Perruzza is a Toronto resident who founded more than twenty businesses throughout Southern Ontario over the past two decades. He currently owns two innovative technology and design companies, Radiant Audio Design and Rad3Sixty. No stranger to the world of franchising, Perruzza owned and operated ten Subway franchises around Southern Ontario over the past two decades, and served on the company's North American Franchisee Board of Directors between 2001 and 2007.

Perruzza and Geonnotti are currently seeking franchisees throughout PA, NJ, DE and North Florida. "With franchise fees of $25,000, we're expecting to find a lot of opportunity in the mid-Atlantic and northern Florida regions," said Perruzza. Yogen Früz offers each franchisee a unique opportunity with business models ranging from kiosks, inline stores, cafes and mobile trucks.

Founded in 1986 in Toronto by Aaron, Michael and Simon Serruya, Yogen Früz has grown to be a world leader in the frozen yogurt category, with over 1200 locations operating in 25 countries around the world. The company was recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine several times over the years for its accomplishments, and rated the number one Franchise in the World in 1999 among the Franchise 500.
