Jamba Juice Answers the Call and Joins National Summer Jobs Initiative

Company Commits to Hire 2,500 Youth in Support of DOL's Summer Jobs USA Initiative

EMERYVILLE, Calif., May 10, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Jamba Juice Company (NASDAQ: JMBA), a leading healthy, active lifestyle company, announced today their commitment to put 2,500 youth to work this summer in support of U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Summer Jobs USA Initiative. The announcement came on a teleconference call hosted last Thursday by Obama Administration Labor Secretary, Hilda Solis. More than 100 mayors from around the country participated in the call, including U.S. Conference of Mayors President, Elizabeth Kautz. Bruce Schroder, President of Stores for Jamba Juice represented the Company on the call.

Launched in April, the Jobs Initiative was designed to address summer youth unemployment by engaging business leaders, local elected officials, and non-profit organizations from around the country, in a show of partnership between public and private sector, to provide jobs for young people ages 16-24.

"We know how hard it can be to find work in these economic times. Summer is a busy season for Jamba Juice and as our brand has expanded into new urban areas like Washington D.C., we will be in need of even more qualified team members," said Bruce Schroder, president of stores, Jamba Juice Company. "We also know how important it is for youth to find jobs over the summer so that they can earn money to help pay for their education. For many, this will be their first job and a critical stepping stone to their future career, which we hope will be with us. We are happy to help out."

"Summer jobs help teach young people about what is possible, provide them with the skills they need to be successful in the workplace, and inspire them to seek the education necessary to achieve their long-term career goals. I'm thrilled that Jamba Juice has joined the growing list of committed partners providing America's young people with opportunities that can make an impact for a lifetime," said Secretary of Labor, Hilda Solis.

Jamba Juice has more than 740 stores across the nation and expects to hire at least 2,500 team members to provide outstanding service to customers over the summer. Applicants can find more information about summer jobs by visiting www.jambajuice.com/careers or http://www.dol.gov/dol/summerjobs/ .
