Teriyaki Experience Continuing Growth Across Houston

Asian Inspired Concept Feeding Consumer Demand for Fresh, Healthy Foods in Cypress

May 23, 2011 // Franchising.com // OAKVILLE, ON – As the Houston market's demand for healthy dining options stays strong, Teriyaki Experience is expanding its Asian-inspired cuisine concept across Houston with the opening of its newest location at Cy Fair Town Center.

The new restaurant will be the company's second location in Houston. Scheduled to open in July 2011, Teriyaki Experience will be located at 17337 Spring Cypress Road in Cypress.

The new location is part of a company growth initiative to develop 45 locations throughout Houston and the surrounding areas over the next ten years. The expansion into Houston is part of the company's plans to open nearly 500 additional restaurant locations worldwide.

"Since opening our first location in Houston last year, Teriyaki Experience has proven to remain successful as healthy dining has become a way of life for most families," said Nicole Veloce, COO for Teriyaki Experience. "Our new location in Cypress will allow us to reach out to families who are always on-the-go and are seeking an affordable and also delicious dining alternative."

While Teriyaki Experience prepares meals with their signature Asian cooking sauce, the restaurant concept also offers customers the option of cooking their food with water to minimize calorie and fat content. Using the teppanyaki griddle to prepare meals fast and fresh, sizzling meals are prepared in less than three minutes and right before customers' eyes. The menu features a selection of rice and noodle meals, soups, wraps, salads and sushi. Most menu items have less than 10 grams of fat and contain less than 600 calories.

Each meal combines garden fresh vegetables with all-white meat chicken, beef, shrimp or tofu, and a choice of Japanese steamed rice, yakisoba or udon noodles and topped with the customers choice of Sweet Chili, Pan-Asian Temptation, Reduced Sodium Teriyaki or the famous signature Teriyaki sauce. Teriyaki Experience also offers customers a hot and spicy pork dish as well as a grilled salmon dish.

"As the demand for quick and healthy dining alternatives in Houston continues to grow, we want the local community to be able to think of Teriyaki Experience as the restaurant option they can turn to when in need of convenient food that supports their active lifestyle," added Greg Hamer Jr., Area Developer for Teriyaki Experience in Houston.

B & G Fit Food Ventures LLC, a family owned corporation based out of Morgan City, Louisiana, who are the owners and operators of the Bunker Hill restaurant location, will also be owning and operating the new restaurant in Cypress. The company is affiliated by common ownership with several additional corporations involved in restaurant related activities, the largest being B&G Food Enterprises, who own and operate directly over 50 Taco Bell and KFC restaurants in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas, and have been operating restaurants for over 28 years.
