Elgin, IL, May 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Rob Schaid, broker/owner of RE/MAX Plaza, with offices in McHenry and Richmond, Ill., recently received the Distinguished Service Award from the RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network. He was honored for his contributions to the real estate industry and the success of his brokerage business, which has continued to thrive despite a challenging economic environment.

RE/MAX Northern Illinois only presents its Distinguished Service Award when an honoree of special merit is identified. This makes Schaid's honor all the more exceptional. The McHenry resident is a second-generation Realtor® who entered the business after watching his father, James Schaid, carve out a successful real estate career, including the founding of the original McHenry office of RE/MAX Plaza, now located at 4005 N. Kane Ave.

The younger Schaid eventually assumed operational control of the brokerage, and then, wanting to expand the family business, opened the successful Richmond office at 9716 U.S. Hwy. 12.

He also has taken an active role in the RE/MAX network, as well as local Realtor® groups. Schaid currently is a member of the board of directors of Midwest Real Estate Data, LLC, the multiple listing service for much of Northern Illinois, including the Chicago area.
