Saudi Arabia Business Group Chooses SMOOTHIE FACTORY Brand for Global Expansion

June 17, 2011 // // DALLAS, TX  -- Smoothie Factory known for Blending Nutrition With Great Taste™ with innovative smoothies, fresh-squeezed juices, authentic frozen yogurt, light foods, today announced it has signed a multi-store development agreement in the Middle East region with AlEbdaa Establishment. The agreement, covering the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, will allow AlEbdaa Establishment to open traditional Smoothie Factory locations, kiosks, as well as sell sub-franchises throughout the Eastern Province.

AlEbdaa Smoothie Factory operations will be led by Fadi AlKhuanaizi, who also serves as Chief Executive Officer. AlEbdaa Establishment approached Smoothie Factory after extensive research. After the execution of a letter of memorandum, both groups collaborated to develop a detailed market entry strategy.

According to Smoothie Factory, their main target initially will be the 769,000 city-dwelling residents out of Dammam's total 2,054,710 million metropolitan population. A three year expansion strategy targets areas which not only have favorable demographic profiles but which can also be serviced and support by Smoothie Factory's operations infrastructure. Dammam will serve as a 'hub'. Once stores blanket the hub, then additional stores will be opened in smaller, surrounding 'spoke' areas within the metropolitan area. The first store is scheduled to open September 2011.
