Friendly's Franchisee Purchases Five Additional Central New Jersey Restaurants

June 21, 2011 // // Wilbraham, Mass. -- Friendly Ice Cream Corporation, which operates more than 500 company-owned and franchised full-service, family dining restaurants, announced today that Jim Yanucil has purchased an additional five restaurants from the company, effective June 13.

The restaurants are located in Moorestown, Deptford, Wenohah, Mt. Holly and Burlington. A franchisee since 1999, Yanucil owns seven other Friendly's restaurants in Central New Jersey. Along with the purchase of these five restaurants, Yanucil has agreed to open an additional five restaurants by December, 2016. Friendly's locations can be found online at

"Jim and his team have been a part of the Friendly's family for a long time," said Friendly's Senior Vice President, Development and Franchising, Jim Sullivan. "They know the company well and we are happy to have them managing our brand in Central New Jersey."

"I'm excited to add five additional restaurants to our family. We will renovate all five restaurants before the end of the year and will add 75 to 100 associates to maximize our guests' experience," said Yanucil. "The Friendly's Brand is something we strongly believe in and we look forward to being a part of the company's growth for a long time to come."

Friendly's recently announced the purchase of an additional 32 restaurants in the Tri-State area by New Jersey franchisee J&B Restaurant Partners of NYDMA LLC, as well as the purchase of two additional restaurants in Northern New Jersey by franchisee Will Haiback.
