Cookies by Design Promotes Jack Long to CEO and President

Franchisee to draw upon first-hand experience to spur growth

July 06, 2011 // Franchising.com // (DALLAS) – Cookies by Design, known as "the original cookie bouquet™ company," today announced the promotion of Jack Long, franchise owner and operator, from executive vice president to chief executive officer and president of the national organization, effective July 1, 2011.

"His proven business sense and experience give us full confidence in his ability to successfully lead our company into the future."

Long joined Cookies by Design's corporate management team in 2009 as executive vice president where he led marketing and operations for the company. Under his leadership, Cookies by Design has launches several new products and inked licensing agreements with Major League Baseball, NFL and NCAA, as well as Winnie the Pooh, Garfield and Disney.

As an independent franchisee, Long has sustained double-digit growth at his southwest Florida location in Fort Myers since 2005.

Long's previous business experience includes serving as the director of business and transformation and marketing for MCI International (now part of Verizon), where he was responsible for market innovation, strategic planning and directing new initiatives for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to that, he served as regional sales and marketing director for WorldCom Northern, where he led sales and marketing activity for North of England and Scotland. His other telecom experience includes roles with Herald Corp. and Alcatel Business Systems.

Long received his law degree from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom.
