Holiday Inn Express Fort Lauderdale Airport - West Undergoes a New Brand Transformation

All-suite property offers convenient location to Fort Lauderdale's airport, cruise terminals and area universities

July 11, 2011 // Franchising.com // ATLANTA - IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) [LON: IHG, NYSE: IHG (ADRs)], the world's largest hotel group by number of rooms today announces the opening of the Holiday Inn Express Fort Lauderdale Airport-West after extensive remodeling to transition the hotel from a Comfort Suites. The hotel is conveniently located in Davie, an area known for its universities and nearby beaches. With 77 upgraded suites featuring flat screen televisions, a newly built pool and 500 square feet of meeting space, the Holiday Inn Express Fort Lauderdale Airport-West is a valuable addition to the area's hospitality offerings. The hotel is bringing an expected 25 jobs to the area, ranging from front desk to maintenance.

The Holiday Inn Express offers an advantageous location for a variety of South Florida visitors. Located one mile from the Davie campuses of Nova Southeastern University, University of Florida, Broward College, Florida Atlantic University and Florida International University, the hotel is a smart choice for prospective students and visiting parents and faculty. The hotel is also in close proximity to the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and the Port Everglades cruise terminal. The new hotel includes features in keeping with the $1 billion Holiday Inn relaunch, the biggest ever project of its kind in the history of the hospitality industry. First announced in 2007, the relaunch program creates a more contemporary brand image as part of the drive to increase quality and consistency across the global portfolio. The program focuses on arrival and welcome services, guestroom and guest bath comfort and a redesigned logo and signage.
