July 13, 2011 // Franchising.com // ATLANTA -- As the overall economy continues to struggle and with consumer confidence plunging to a seven year-low in June according to a recent article by the Associated Press, Maid Brigade Inc. continues to experience steady sales growth.
Coming off of encouraging sales increases in April, Maid Brigade's May sales report surpassed even April's numbers showing monthly, year over year, and year to date sales increases for the leading cleaning service franchise.
Total same store sales for May show an increase of 4.5 percent over the same period last year. Total system wide sales for May were up 6.31 percent over April with year to date (January to May) total system wide sales showing an improvement of 6.65 percent over 2010.
"Amid continuing grim reports on the economy including the most recent jobs data reported by the U.S. Department of Labor, we're confident that Maid Brigade will continue to prosper and expand both domestically and internationally," says Bart Puett, president and CEO of Maid Brigade.
"Residential cleaning services are in demand, we have a proven business model that is profitable for our franchisees, and we are dedicated as a franchisor to do everything it takes to make our franchisees a success despite these tough economic times," adds Puett.
Maid Brigade projects $70 million in sales for 2011. As an industry, residential cleaning services revenue is expected to reach $14 billion by 2014 with maid services revenue projected to hit $10 billion that same year.
