Fresh Coat Painters Adds Franchise in Riverside, California

Although he worked for an "excellent company," Elfrin Colón was ready to own his own company and opted to buy a Fresh Coat Painters franchise in Riverside, Calif. He sees his new enterprise as an investment not only for himself, but also for his three sons.

Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) Fresh Coat Painters has added to its California operations with the launch of Elfrin Colón's franchise in Riverside, which will serve residential and commercial clients in Riverside, Anaheim, Irvine, Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore and surrounding communities.

After working 15 years as a qualification manager, where he managed facilities services and served in constructing projects for the pharmaceutical industry, Colón said he was ready for a change.

"I worked for an excellent company," he said. "But I wanted to own a company myself, put my efforts into something that could grow and be successful for me, something that I could pass to my sons when I retire where they could take care of it and keep it going."

The father of three sons, ages 10, 19 and 22, Colón said that he is very family-oriented and wanted his business to be one that paired well with his desire to spend time with them and his wife, Lucy.

Self-described as "analytical," Colón said he researched several franchises extensively, but opted to pursue only Fresh Coat.

"Fresh Coat is a nationally recognized franchising system, with solid marketing and a proven operational system," he said. "There are also a lot of opportunities in the field, so I could easily see myself as part of that business going forward. After I visited the corporate headquarters, I found the personnel to be very informative, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. They explained the procedures and programs extremely well. They gave us a step-by-step process to succeed."

Bernie Brozek, president of Fresh Coat, said that Colón joined the company with the traits of many of the most successful franchise owners.

"Elfrin already has leadership experience and knows a lot about hiring people, managing teams and ensuring the success of projects," he said. "Our structure complements those traits because our owners spend their time promoting and growing their businesses while the personnel complete the projects."

Colón said he valued the business model because it promotes professionalism and client satisfaction.

"When I started interviewing painters, they were impressed by the organization, the benefits, and the marketing program," he said. "Our painters are regular employees of Fresh Coat. We pre-screen them to ensure they meet our standards of professionalism, experience, and quality. My painters have over 20 years of experience in the industry. I wanted to make sure I have a solid team that consistently delivers a quality job."

Brozek said the company's own research has shown that skilled painters appreciate the stability of Fresh Coat's structure.

"Painting is a high-demand industry with year-round possibilities," he said, "but there are way too many fly-by-night operators that make it difficult for quality painters to find secure employment. We're out to change that pattern. And helping our franchise owners succeed is part of that vision. We strive to complement the skills, interests and abilities of our owners with our marketing, training and resource materials."

Among those are several client assistance programs, such as a 24/7 call center, proprietary EPIC estimating program, Paint Now-Pay Later 12-months-same-as-cash financing, Automatic Touch-Up for businesses, and fund-raising opportunities for charities.

Colón said he was especially impressed with the EPIC program because it offers such an advantage for clients and Fresh Coat personnel.

"It allows our estimators to prepare accurate and consistent quotes," he said. "It really makes us different from the rest. With EPIC we measure room dimensions, load the data into the program, and EPIC calculates labor, materials and project duration. We can provide competitive and accurate quotes in a consistent basis. In addition, our quotes include premium, top-of-the-line paint and materials."

Colón also was impressed by the call center that lets clients speak to a real person at any time and actually schedule appointments. "That's unique to the industry." And, because Riverside and its surrounding communities were especially hard hit by the downturn in the housing market, he believes the convenience of the Paint Now-Pay Later program will be especially well-received.

"Painting adds to the presentation of a home and can help in its sale," Colón said. "With our financing program, the owner and Realtor have the option to get the job done now and pay for it at closing."
