Wingstop Awards Franchise Agreements to Open 101 New Stores

Rapidly expanding wing chain has signed 36 franchise agreements since January

August 05, 2011 // Franchising.com // RICHARDSON, Texas – Wingstop announced today that the company has signed 36 development agreements since January that will result in 101 new store openings over the next several years.

Wingstop has 485 locations open and 175 restaurants in various stages of development. The recent franchise and development agreements include:

  • 30 restaurants in Southern California
  • 15 restaurants in Atlanta
  • 15 restaurants in Seattle
  • 6 restaurants in Northern California
  • 4 restaurants in South Florida
  • 4 restaurants in Milwaukee
  • 4 restaurants in Louisville, Ky.
  • 3 restaurants in South Carolina

"Wingstop is opening its 500th location this year, and we're on track to double that number within five years," said Dave Vernon, vice president of franchise development for Wingstop. "Our veteran and new franchise brand partners recognize strong AUVs, the simplicity of our operations and a focused, quality menu."

Wingstop has experienced same store sales growth for eight consecutive years. The company's next phase of development will target growth in Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit and the Northeast.
