Card Connection Appoints 'Cardie' as New Senior Franchise Manager

August 23, 2011 // Franchising.com // Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection, has appointed Simon Hanna as its new senior franchise manager. Described as a 'Cardie' due to his 24 years in the greeting card industry, Hanna, will be responsible for helping Card Connection's team of 70 franchisees to grow the profitability of their respective businesses.

"I will be providing practical help to assist franchisees develop and optimise their operations," confirms Hanna. "Card Connection has an unparalleled range of high-quality greetings cards to suit every occasion and my focus will be expanding these superb products into new and innovative retail channels as well as further increasing sales within existing stores.

"Simon Hanna is keen to share his wealth of experience gained at the likes of Fine Art Developments PLC (later bought by Hallmark), Busquets and Garlanna," confirms Andrew Cutler, sales and franchise director of Card Connection. "In addition, he understands the challenges and rewards of self employment as he ran his own card and gift shop for six years. Prior to joining Card Connection, Simon Hanna has also worked at Pluscards, The Hand Crafted Card Company as a sales consultant, and as the greeting card category manager for stationery and toy distributor; Magson of York. He has also been a council member of the Greeting Card Association (GCA) for several years.

"Three quarters of the UK population are 'in need' of a greeting card at any one time," confirms Hanna. "As a result, there are some fantastic opportunities for expansion out there for Card Connection franchisees and I am looking forward to passing on my enthusiasm for this industry and helping them grow their businesses to even greater levels of profitability."
